[ okay, so. he's not sure that he and scott are exactly on what either one of them would call "good terms" right now, but he also doesn't know who else to reach out to right now. so: here he is. ]

hey. it's stiles.

[ ... alright no duh, but he's kind of casting about awkwardly here. ]

Then... maybe we shouldn't touch each other. You gotta look out for yourself, too, Scott. You can't just... fix other people all the time. There's not gonna be anything left of you.

[ though literally all he wants to do right now is lean into scott's side, is hide his face in his shoulder and ask him to please forgive him.

he nudges the plate over to him. ]

[ Scott doesn't know how to respond to his best friend telling him to not touch him...

Oh wait, yes he does - by looking like the most kicked puppy ever. ]

Maybe I don't care what's left of me. [ He murmurs quietly. It's safe to say he's been feeling pretty low - he feels like the worst alpha because of Liam's complete lack of faith in him, then there's the fact that Stiles hid such a huge secret from him, and maybe he wouldn't have ever found out if it hadn't been for Theo.

Wordlessly, he takes a pizza roll, but he seems to have lost his appetite, turning it between his fingers rather than eating it. ]

Scott...

[ it weighs a little more heavily on stiles when he sees just how much that remark affects him, and he swallows a mouthful of guilt. he hesitates, briefly shutting his eyes, before reaching over to slide his hand over scott's free one, gently squeezing the other boy's fingers with his own.

there's uncertainty in the touch, like part of him is still afraid that scott is going to recoil in horror or disgust. ]

Even if you stop caring, no one else you've ever met will. You leave an impression.

...Thanks. [ That was sweet. He looks down at their hands, then back up at Stiles' face, one corner of his mouth turning upwards. ]

Thought you said no touching. [ That lasted - what, five seconds? ]

Yeah, and then you looked like I told you that every puppy in the world had just died.

[ he sighs, removing his hand, before he shifts on the couch to sort of just lean his entire back against scott's side. ]

We just missed the entire Handsome Squidward episode.

Did not. [ Yes he did. ]

It's probably for the best or you would've peed yourself again... Dude, just put your head on my lap if you're gonna lean on me. [ It'd be more comfortable than Stiles leaning his weight on him like that. ]

[ stiles just shoots scott a briefly confused look, like he's waiting for scott to realize what he just said, to remember that things are supposed to be terrible between them right now... before he just gives a tired sort of sigh and shrugs, slumping down and dropping his head onto scott's lap. he stares up at him, expression blank but gently curious, before he does the sort something driven entirely by stress and impulse -- he turns his face to the side and blows a raspberry directly onto his best friend's stomach through his shirt. ]

[ No one can know this isn't the first time Stiles has done this.

Scott tries to keep a straight, refusing to laugh because laughing would mean admitting what Stiles just did was funny. He'd like to think he's too old to react with amusement at having a raspberry blown against him...

Then again, they are watching cartoons right now, so it comes as no surprise when Scott lets out an involuntary giggle, then grabs a cushion, holding it over Stiles' face as though to smother him. His hold is gentle, though. ]

[ stiles is going to operate on sheer reflex when he retaliates: he twists slightly, trying to escape from beneath the pillow, and pulling his hands up to dig into scott's sides in a desperate attempt to tickle the shit out of him.

it really feels like they're kids again, for a moment. he likes it. ]

[ Wow, no, who said tickling was allowed? ]

Dude-- [ He bats Stiles' hands away. ] Quit it or you're gonna end up on the floor. [ Not by accidentally falling - but shoved by Scott. ]

You were the one smothering me! Tickling is totally an admissible defense. Don't even pretend it's not, Scott McCall.

[ he's a little out of breath for some reason, but at least he's not trying to escape Scott's lap. ]

You started it by blowing a raspberry at me. Who even does that?

[ Strange boys named Stiles Stilinski, that's who. ]

I have the weirdest taste in best friends... [ He's teasing you, Stiles. ]

[ stiles glances up at him, then, before rolling so that the back of his head is pillowed in scott's lap. he's growing a little more serious as he contemplates him in silence, and then- ]

So I'm still your best friend?
